Penny Drake-BrockmanBird Friendly Gardens

WHERE: Billabong Park
WHEN: Saturday 13 October – 3pm

If you would like to “bird-scape” your garden, come along to Billabong Park to hear how to do it!

Penny has developed her Gloucester town garden over the last 15 years with the aim of finding which species of shrubs and trees survive the extremes of the weather and the clayey soil while providing habitat for many visiting birds and the food they love to eat.

As a well-known expert on birds, Penny has participated in many bird surveys both in Australia and overseas which provide information on species to help encourage their survival. She is also well versed in native plant species which are beneficial to birds and is an active bush-regenerator so she can let you know how to get rid of those weeds which threaten to overtake your garden.
